Nature's Calendar eco poetry and animation
In collaboration with Nature Over Natter and the Woodland Trust's citizen science project, Nature's Calendar, I was commissioned to create an illustrated and animated poem that celebrated the gentle signs of spring.![Woodland Trust illustration of a tree with a poem about spring]()
The piece invites viewers to pause and reconnect with nature by noticing subtle seasonal changes. These are all indicators that volunteers can track as part of the Nature's Calendar project, which supports vital climate research.
My goal was to craft a soft, immersive visual moment on social media that encourages reflection and hope. The animated poem uses flowing textures and quiet rhythm to mirror the calm magic of spring.
This project was a dream to work on, merging poetic storytelling, detailed illustration, and animation to spark emotional connection and encourage care for the natural world.
